Get 45 minutes of individual attention with our experienced Icelandic tutor, focusing on your needs - based on where you are in your online Icelandic LÓA Course.

How about getting your own personal tutor to help you progress in your online LÓA Course? If you are working your way through one of our online courses, a little bit of Online Tutoring may help you better understand and practice what you have learned. Learning a new language is fun but can sometimes feel a bit confusing. Online tutoring is a brilliant way to supplement your online language learning. It might just tip the balance!

We will use the Online Tutoring sessions to practice speaking Icelandic, help with grammar, brush up on vocabulary, or whatever else you need. You choose – or let the teacher take the lead.  

Note: If you are currently not taking an online course with LÓA Language School, please select our Private Lessons , which are lessons tailored specifically to your needs!

Here is how we do it

Time & date

  • You buy 1 Online Tutoring session
  • Once LÓA has received your registration and payment information, your teacher will email you to schedule a time and date for your meeting
  • Your teacher will send you a meeting link and code shortly before each scheduled session

Tech stuff

  • We use Zoom for our Online Tutoring sessions
  • Please follow the instructions in the above mentioned email to join the meeting
  • Before starting, please go to zoom.us and sign up for a free account; you can download the Zoom app, or join the meeting in a browser
  • Please make sure your camera, mic and internet are working properly before the session

Meet your Teacher!

Anna Ólafsdóttir

Anna graduated with a B.Ed. from the University of Iceland's School of Education in 1988, majoring in Icelandic, and returned in 2016 to complete a diploma in Translation Studies. She has several years's experience teaching children as well working with teachers on eg. selecting and creating course material. For the last few years Anna has focused on teaching Icelandic for adults, working as a translator on the side.

Anna has worked in the development sector and has lived and traveled in nearly all continents. She speaks English, French and Spanish, as well as some of the Nordic languages, and has worked for many years as a guide around our beautiful Iceland.

Anna is LÓA Language School's resident teacher.
